Popular mobile messaging service, Whatsapp has ousted the voice calling feature for iOS, a feature which Whatsapp for Android users should have all gotten now. The feature for iOS unlike Android would be ‘rolling out slowly over several weeks’ so some patience might have to be exercised.
The Whatsapp for iOS Voice Calling Feature is available on the version 2.12.1. The feature is comparable to Skype and FaceTime Audio Service on iOS however the service could incur some Data charges. The version 2.12.1 also comes with features such as an option to send multiple videos at once, ability to edit contacts via whatsapp, quick camera button in chats and iOS 8 share extension.
Earlier this week, Facebook announced that Whatsapp has scored the 800 million Monthly Active User mark which means the app has added 100 million active users almost every four months since August 2014. The company also has plans to launch the voice calling feature for Windows Phone users which it says is still in the works.
