Since French based OEM, Wiko Mobile announced new smartphones launch in the Nigerian market. Tipped as the fastest growing phone brand in Europe, the smartphone launched includes – Wiko Highway and Wiko Rainbow. The company has announced a new entry level dubbed the Wiko Jimmy which will debut soon in different region markets.
The Wiko Jimmy Entry-level Smartphone supports Dual SIM functionality but does not support LTE connectivity (stuck at 3G). Specs wise, its definitely what you would expect from any midranger. A 4.5-inch 854 x 480 pixels FWVGA resolution display, powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor (unspecified chipset), 512MB of RAM, 4 GB of internal storage and a microSD card slot for storage expansion. Other features includes: standard connectivity suites – Wi-Fi, Bluetooth with 3G connectivity, 5MP camera with LED flash, 1.3MP front facing camera and 1700mAh battery for powering up the device.
It won’t be surprising if the Wiko Jimmy makes its way to Nigeria or the continent Africa as a whole. It is expected to cost an initial cost $112 which would be around N20,000 or N25,000 in Naira (subsidies and tax includes) according to the current exchange rate. But its would be too cost at that amount as there are better smartphones in the market with a much more reduced proce but even better specs.
