Microsoft has hinted that the release of the Windows 10 for phone would not be available this summer; rather the desktop version would launch first.
Speaking at a press event at the Microsoft Build event, Joe Belfiore told journalists that the Windows 10 for phones wouldn’t be available in time for the summer launch of the desktop version.
“Our phone builds have not been as far along as our PC builds.. We’re adapting the phone experiences later than we’re adding the PC experiences.
From the device view, our main focus is to kick off the Windows 10 launch wave with a great launch on the PC. You should expect that the other devices — phone, HoloLens, Xbox, Surface Hub — will be staggered, probably not on the same date as the PC.”
He added
In another development, most of the features of the Windows 10 would not launch alongside the OS, with some of it expected to launch later. The left out features at launch would be added in form of a series of update.
This literally means, Windows 10 for phones might likely launch around the falls and as soon as the Windows 10 for desktop launches, a series of updates, new features and more would be added. Lumia smartphones running Windows 10 would then likely be released around the later parts of the year.
