Microsoft has officially announced that the Windows 10 would be officially available starting July 29, 2015. There would be different version of the OS but the Windows 10 for PCs and tablets has been confirmed to the first to launch.
Starting July 29, Windows 10 would be available from Windows 10 powered PCs from retailers or existing users can take advantage of the free upgrade offer for Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 Users. Users are also getting notifications at their task bar, clicking on this icon would let you reserve your free Windows 10 upgrade.
Windows 10 would bring new features such as Microsoft Edge browser (which replaces Internet Explorer), Cortana, Office 2016 full featured desktop suite, Universal apps, unified Windows Store, Xbox Live and integrated Xbox app, Continuum feature for mobile and tablets and Windows Hello with biometric authentication login.
The new features are not limited to the above listed and the company is promising more exciting innovations and features to come with the OS. Windows 10 is tailored to work on a wide range of devices ranging from Windows PCs, Windows tablets, Windows Phones, Windows for the Internet of Things, Microsoft Surface Hub, Xbox One and Microsoft HoloLens.
Anybody in possession of a Windows Phone or a PC running Windows 10 Insider Preview can ask Cortana for the launch date of the Windows 10; as expected the personal digital assistant would give the correct answer.
