UK smartphone maker, Kazam has launched a new smartphone in the market – the Kazam Tornado 348 which is apparently super slim at 5.15mm in thickness. The title of the Thinnest Smartphone around may still be the Gionee Elife S5.5 but that’s about to change with the tornado 348 and not forgetting the upcoming Gionee Elife S5.1 smartphone.

If not for digging deep the UK based OEM KAZAM was a mystery to me too but thanks to ReCombu. The company was established by former HTC executives – Michael Coombes and James Atkins. The company is has offices located in London’s Mayfair but has a 50 strong R&D team based in China where the company’s smartphones are designed and built.

Moving to the specs, the Kazam Tornado 348 has aluminium frames build, 4.8-inch 720p HD AMOLED display with the front and back protected by Gorilla Glass. Under the hood is a 1.7GHz octa-core MediaTek processor, 1GB of RAM and 32GB of storage but no mention of microSD cards.

On the back is a 8MP snapper with a single LED flash and a front facing 5MP camera. The device packs a 2500mAh battery, weighs just 99 grams and runs on Android 4.4 Kitkat OS.

The Kazam Tornado 348 costs £249 (~ $402; €315) and would go on sale in the UK and other European market by Mid-November. The smartphone would come with 2 years Warranty and Users would also be able to claim one screen replacement in the first 12 months from the date of purchase.
