Almost 24 hours ago or thereabout we spotted a supposed 15-inch Xiaomi Laptop with Intel chipset online which had top of the line specs and even had a massive 16GB RAM. The laptop was even listed online by a retailer which had the tablet on pre-order.
A Xiaomi spokeman has come out to debunk these claims claiming the laptop is not theirs. There has been speculation that the supposed Laptop looks a lot like the Macbook Air. As it turns out it could be the Macbook Air afterall which has been photoshopped to carry the Xiaomi Logo.
Xiaomi is known as the ‘Apple of China’ with most of its devices modelled after the Cupertino Giant’s devices. Their products would definitely sell out in China and other Asian markets but where their trouble lies is when they intend to enter the western market where issues like copyrights, patents and the likes are taken seriously.
Most of us thought the tablet was unreal at first sight, a laptop with 16GB of RAM for $481. Well Xiaomi could still enter the Laptop market and has the hype to launch a similar machine with beastly specs. We’ll just have to see how it pans out for them.
