Xiaomi’s newly invested subsidiary Black Shark Technology has sent out press invites to launch of a new gamer-centric smartphone. The device, which will compete with the likes of Razer Phone, will be launched at an event in Beijing, China on April 13 at 3:00 PM (GMT+8) / 12:30 PM IST.
Xiaomi’s Black Shark Gaming Phone will come pre-loaded with Android Oreo OS and is expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 octa-core mobile platform paired with Adreno 630 GPU, up to 8GB of RAM and built-in storage space between 32GB and 256GB.
The smartphone is also rumoured to have 2160 x 1080 pixels (FHD+) display resolution, 18:9 aspect ratio, 120 Hz display refresh rate, aviation-class cooling system and Qualcomm’s Quick Charge technology. It attained a total score of 270,680 on AnTuTu benchmark, which is ahead of the 265,267 score recorded by the Samsung Galaxy S9+ with the same processor onboard.
Asides the above rumoured specs, it is also tipped to be launched with or alongside a detachable game controllers and will only carry the Black Shark branding. We will have to wait until next week to confirm the existence and the full specifications of the Xiaomi-backed Black Shark Gaming Phone.
