Xiaomi started off today’s presentation by quietly announcing the Xiaomi Mi 4S before the official Mi 5 Flagship presentation. Expected to improve on the specs of the Mi 4 and slot into the mid-tier category the device comes with very decent specs and a price tag below US$ 300 (CNY 1699 – US$ 259).
Running Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS with MIUI 7.0 ontop, the Xiaomi Mi 4S sports a 5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD display with a pixel density of 44i ppi, improved metal body frame, glasses on either sides and a fingerprint sensor .
The device relies on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 hexa-core processor with Adreno 418 GPU, 3GB of RAM and 64GB built-in storage space. The camera section has a combination of a rear facing 13-megapixels camera with PDAF and Dual Tone LED flash; and a front facing 5-megapixels camera for selfies.
The 7.8mm thick Xiaomi Mi 4S weighs 133 grams, has Dual SIM slots with 4G LTE and VoLTE support, and backed by a 3260mAh battery with Quick charging. Other connectivity options includes USB Type-C port, Dual Band Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/a with MIMO, GPS and Bluetooth 4.1. Black, Gold, Pink and White colours are the available hue options.
