Just like Xiaomi’s Mi 9 series is the follow-up to the Mi 8, the newly announced Xiaomi Mi 9 SE is the successor to the Mi 8 SE. This compact model of the Xiaomi Mi 9 is the first ever to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 mobile platform but retains the in-display fingerprint sensor.+
Backed by a 3,070mAh battery with only 18W fast charging, the Xiaomi Mi 9 SE sports a 5.97-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with 90.4% screen-to-body ratio, waterdrop notch and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It is available in 6GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB (UFS 2.1) storage.
The smartphone’s triple rear camera setup includes a primary 48MP 1/2.0″ Sony IMX586 sensor with f/1.75 aperture, 8MP telephoto lens with f/2.4 aperture and a 13MP ultra-wide angle lens with f/2.4 aperture. The front notch holds the 20MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture.
The Xiaomi Mi 9 SE also has a USB Type-C port, Bluetooth 5 and boots Android 9.0 (Pie) with MIUI 10 on top. Starting March 1, the 6GB + 64GB variant is priced at CNY 1,999 while the 6GB + 128GB variant costs CNY 2,999. Both options arrive in Black, Blue and Violet colours.
