Xiaomi Mi Band 1s goes official with Heart Rate Sensor IP67 rating for $15

Xiaomi has officially announced the successor to the successful Mi Band – the Xiaomi Mi Band 1S. It comes with a new sensor (heart rate sensor) and will go on sale starting November 11th for a price tag of $15; this has also dropped down the price of the original Mi Band lesser to about $11 (from $13).

The Xiaomi Mi Band 1S has polycarbonate body but doesn’t have a screen of its own, it relies on that of the smartphone paired with it. Talking of smartphone pairing, it seamlessly connect with Android as well as iOS smartphones. It has an IP67 rating for being waterproof – survives being submerged in waters up to 3-feet for about 30 minutes.

The fitness tracker has heart rate sensor for tracking heart rate,  count the number of steps taken (pedometer), count the number of calories burned during activity, measures the quality of sleep and vibrates when there is a notification for the user. If you are one of the Xiaomi smartphone user, it has device unlock features too.

The Xiaomi Mi Band 1S measures 37mm x 13.6mm x 9.9 mm in dimensions and weighs 5.5 grams in size; there is Bluetooth connectivity onboard and a 45mAh Li-Po battery expected to last up to 30 days in standby mode.  There are about six different colours of the Mi Band 1s to choose from including Black, Blue, Green and Orange.
