Xiaomi Mi Box S Android TV Box With Google Assistant, 4K HDR Support

During the just concluded Made By Google event which saw the launch of ‎new Google hardware products such as the Pixel 3, Pixel 3 XL and Pixel Slate, Xiaomi teamed up Google to debut its new Android TV 4K ‎box – the Xiaomi Mi Box S.

The Xiaomi Mi Box S with Android TV 8.1 (Oreo) is the global model of the Mi Box 4, just as the original Mix Box is based on the Mi Box 3 (China). It comes with both Chromecast and Google Assistant built-in, and the remote has dedicated buttons for live TV, voice search and Netflix.

The set-top box has a slightly different design but retains the same internals as its predecessor. It packs a quad-core ARM Cortex A53 processor with Mali-450 GPU, 2GB of DDR3 RAM and 8GB of eMMC storage. It supports 4K HDR at 60fps as well as ‎Dolby digital plus and DTS sound.

There is also Bluetooth 4.2, 1x USB 2.0 port, 1x HDMI 2.0A port and 1x audio out port. The Xiaomi Mi Box S is available for pre-order on Walmart for $59.99 and shipping which should commence on October 19 has now been shifted to begin from November 1st.
