Along with the Mi Note 2, Xiaomi also announced a new high-end smartphone which has the touchs of renowned designer Philippe Starck. The Xiaomi Mi MIX (not to be confused with the Mi Max) is a ‘futuristic looking’ concept smartphone with bezel-less design.
Pre-installed with Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS with MIUI 8 and Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor like the Mi Note 2, Mi 5S and Mi 5S Plus, the Xiaomi Mi MIX sports a bexel-less 6.4-inch (2040 x 1080 pixels) Full HD display with an impressive 91.3% screen-to-body ratio and full ceramic body build.
With the screen bezel-less, the Mi Mix is equipped with an ultrasonic distance sensor that sits behinds the displat to replaces standard proximity sensor while a custom made front camera (5MP) sits at the bottom of the phone. A ‘cantilever piezoelectric ceramic acoustic technology’ is onboard to transmit sound instead of the standard earpiece.
The device sports a rear facing 16MP f/2.0 camera, USB Type-C, NFC and 4G VoLTE. It measures 158.8 x 81.9 x 7.9 mm in dimensions, weighs in at 209 grams and backed by a 4400mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0.
The standard Xiaomi Mi MIX model with 4GB RAM/128GB storage costs 3499 yuan (US$ 516) while the Mi MIX Special Edition with 18k carat gold trims around rear camera, fingerprint sensor, 6GB RAM and 256GB storage costs 3999 yuan (US$ 590). It will go on sale from November 4th.
