According to Xiaomi, the Mi MIX FOLD is the world’s first smartphone with Liquid Lens technology and marks the debut of the Surge C1 image processing chip. Photography is handled by a 108MP (f/1.8, 7P lens, 2.1μm) primary camera with 9-in-1-pixel binning paired with 13MP (f/2.5, 123o FOV, 1.12μm) ultra-wide angle and 8MP (f/1.75, 3cm focus) liquid lens for 3X optical zoom, and up to 30X telephoto.

On the inside, the device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 mobile platform paired with LPDDR5 RAM (3200MHz) and UFS 3.1 storage. The butterfly-type cooling system – a combination of different heat dissipation methods including VC liquid cooling, thermal gel, and graphite sheets – ensures efficient heat dissipation. It also comes with a quad-speaker 3D panoramic sound system which is tuned by Harman/Kardonn.

Power is supplied by a 5,020mAh battery (2,460mAh + 2,560mAh dual batteries) with 67W fast charging. The Xiaomi Mi MIX FOLD is available in two models: a standard edition which uses the Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on the back and a Ceramic Special Edition which has a black ceramic back with laser engraving and gold-plated middle frame and volume buttons. The smartphone will go on sale in mainland China from April 16 for both models.

Pricing start at CNY 9,999 for the 12GB + 256GB model; CNY 10,999 for the 12GB + 512GB model; and CNY 12,999 for the 16GB + 512GB model.
