Along with the phablet-sized Redmi Pro smartphone, Xiaomi also announced its first ever laptop – the Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air. It will arrive in two screen sizes – 12.5-inch and 13.3-inch models, and run Windows 10 OS. The design is somewhat similar to the 17mm thick Apple Macbook, however, both models are thinner at 12.9mmn and 14mm respectively.
Available in either Gold or Silver colour options, the 12.5-inch Mi Notebook Air has a screen resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels (176ppi) and is powered by the 2.2GHz Intel Core m3-6Y30 processor along with Intel HD Graphics 515 GPU, 4GB RAM and 128GB SSD.
The rest of the specs include – 1MP HD webcam, digital array microphone, Dual Band Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.1, 1 x USB 3.0 port, HDMI, AKG Customised dual 1W speakers and Dolby audio. It is equipped with the USB Type-C port and is backed by a 37Wh fast charging battery.
The 13.3-inch model has the same screen resolution (166ppi) and is powered by the 2.7GHz Intel Core i5-6200U processor paired with NVIDIA GeForce 940MX GPU, 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD. It also uses the USB Type-C and is backed by a 40Wh fast charging battery.
Other specs includes – 2 x USB 3.0 port, HDMI, USB Type-C, Realtek ALC255, AKG Customised dual 2W speakers and Dolby audio. The Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air will go on sale in China from August 2nd. The 12.5-inch model costs CNY 3499 ($601 USD) while the bigger screen model (13.3-inch) costs RMB 4,999 ($751 USD).
