Xiaomi has announced its latest tablet – the Xiaomi Mi Pad 3, successor to the Mi Pad 2 released back in 2015. Available in Golden colour option only, the new tablet is priced at CNY 1499 (US$ 217) and billed to go on sale tomorrow (April 6th) during the Mi Fan Festival 2017.
Retaining the 7.9-inch display with 2048 × 1536 pixels (326 ppi; 4:3 aspect ratio) and 6.95 mm slim unibody metal design from older models; the Xiaomi Mi Pad 3 is now powered by a hexa-core MediaTek MT8176 processor (2x Cortex A72 cores @ 2.1GHz + 4x Cortex A53 cores @ 1.7GHz) instead of the Intel Atom and Tegra K1 processors on the Mi Pad 2 and Mi Pad respectively.
The slate packs 4GB LPDDR3 RAM, 64GB built-in storage space (eMMC 5.0), 13MP camera with f/2.0 aperture & 1080p video recording, front facing 8MP camera with f/2.2 aperture, USB Type C port, Dual Band Wi-Fi 802.11ac and boots MIUI 8 (based on Android Marshmallow OS).
The Xiaomi Mi Pad 3 depends on a 6600mAh battery with fast charging, which should provide up to 12 hours video playback and 867 hours of standby time. It measures 200.4 x 132.6 x 6.95 mm in dimensions and weights 328 grams.
