Xiaomi’s Redmi sub-brand has unveiled the Redmi K20 smartphone series which include the Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro. Both versions have almost the same specs and features, however, the pro model is based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 mobile platform paired with up to 8GB of RAM while the K20 is based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 mobile platform paired with 6GB of RAM.
The Redmi K20 and K20 Pro have the same notch- and punch-free 6.39-inch Full HD+ OLED 19.5:9 display with 91.9% screen-to-body ratio, in-display fingerprint sensor and a long-lasting 4,000mAh battery with fast charging technology (18W on the standard & 27W on the Pro). Both models come pre-loaded with MIUI 10 (based on Android 9 Pie) and the Pro model also adds 8 layers of graphite 3D sheet for better heat dissipation.
For photography, the K20 series feature a triple rear camera setup with a primary 48MP (f/1.75) snapper (with Sony IMX586 sensor on the Pro and Sony IMX582 sensor) paired with a 8MP (f/2.4) telephoto lens for 2x loss-less zoom and 13MP (f/2.4) wide-angle snapper with 124.8-degree of view. The device has an AI-enhanced 20MP front camera sitting in the pop-up mechanism on top.
Available in Blue and Red, the Redmi K20 is priced starting at CNY 1999 for the 6GB + 64GB model and CNY 2,099 for the 6GB + 128GB model. The Redmi K20 Pro is available in four configurations: 6GB + 64GB model for CNY 2,499; 6GB + 128GB model for CNY 2,599; 8GB + 128GB model for CNY 2,799 and 8GB + 256GB model for CNY 2,999. Xiaomi is offering an attachable gamepad accessory for CNY 179 and colourful cases for CNY 39.
The brand also launched its first notebook product – the RedmiBook 14 and the successor to the Redmi 6A, the Redmi 7A. The 7A specs include a 5.45-inch HD+ 18:9 display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 mobile platform, 13MP rear camera, 5MP selfie splash-resistant (P2i) body and a 4,000mAh battery with 10W (5V/2A) fast charging support. The 2GB + 16GB model is available for CNY 549 while the 2GB + 32GB model sells for CNY 599.
For a price tag starting at CNY 3,999, Xiaomi’s RedmiBook 14 pack the 8th-gen Intel processors, Nvidia GeForce MX250 GPU, up to 8GB of RAM and 512GB SSD storage. The notebook has a 14.1-inch Full HD display with an 81.2% screen-to-body ratio, 2x USB 3.0 ports, 1x USB 2.0 port, 1x HDMI port and 3.5mm audio jack. It measures 17.95mm thick and weighs about 1.5kg.
