Xiaomi is expected to announce the Redmi Note 2 this year and there are also talks of a bigger version of the device which could see a Redmi Note 2 Pro also go official. The specs of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 as well as the pricing has been spotted on an e-commerce website, Giztop.
While it isn’t confirmed for now, let’s take a look at the supposed Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Specs – it sports a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD display, powered by an octa-core MediaTek MT6795 processor clocked at 2.0GHz (64-bit) paired with 3GB of RAM and 16GB space of internal storage.
Talks of a microSD card on-board shows a different strategy from the company as it is used to releasing different storage variants, so we could see the 16GB and maybe a 64GB and 32GB version. The rear camera is a 13MP unit and the front camera is a 5MP unit.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 is expected to come with USB Type-C port, support 4G LTE (FDD-LTE), Dual SIM slots and runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop OS (MIUI based). Other connectivity options includes – GPS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and is expected to be backed by a 3000mAh battery which could last 10 days of standby time.
As expected the device is currently listed as out-of-stock but it is earmarked with a €199 ($226). It is looking likely that a launch date for the device is very near.
