Xiaomi has finally launched the Redmi Note 3, successor to the Redmi Note 2 which launched some months ago. It is the first smartphone from the company with a full metal body and a fingerprint scanner. The 2GB RAM/16GB ROM model costs CNY 899 while the 3GB RAM/32GB ROM costs CNY 1099.
Along with the official unveiling, a couple of Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Hands-On Photos was released to accompany it. The 5.5-inch sized device rocks a premium looking all-metal body build and is packaged in a White (or Cream colour) Box with letterings reminiscent of that used by for the iPhones by Apple.
The lock and volume buttons are all located on the right hand side, the audio jack is located on top and the micro USB port is located at the bottom. The fingerprint sensor which boasts of 0.3 unlock time is located below the main camera on the back and the phone is available in Dark Grey, Gold and Silver colours.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 has similar specs to the Redmi Note 2 and is powered by the same Octa-core Mediatek Helio X10 processor. It sports a 5-megapixels camera, rear facing 13-megapixels Phase Detection AutoFocus (PDAF) camera and is backed by a 4000mAh battery. The handset boots MIUI 7 (based on Android Lollipop OS) and has Dual 4G SIM slots.
