Chinese device maker, Xiaomi has confirmed the launch of the Redmi Note 5A will happen on August 21. The company’s President and co-founder – Bin Lin has released a number of press shots of the device which is expected to have a basic model (MDE6) and a prime or pro model (MDE6S) with added features.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A packs 2GB RAM + 16GB storage, IR sensor, front 5MP camera and rear 13MP camera but skips on a fingerprint sensor. It relies on a quad-core processor clocked at 1.4GHz (possibly the Qualcomm Snapdragon 425) and run Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS with MIUI 9.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A Prime/Pro relies on a 1.4GHz octa-core processor (Qualcomm Snapdragon 435) and sports a rear 16MP camera with LED flash, front facing 13MP selfie camera, 3GB RAM + 32GB storage space and fingerprint sensor. It also comes pre-installed with MIUI 9.
Both models have a metal unibody design, 5.5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display, Hybrid Dual SIM slots (nano + nano / microSD), and depends on a 3,000 mAh battery. They should arrive in Gold, Grey and Rose Gold colour options, but there is no official word on pricing yet. Detailed info expected when the device launches.
