‎Having sold over 110 million Redmi series devices in the past three years in China, the company expects the new Xiaomi Redmi Pro to become a major hit too. The new phablet device, which went official in its home country, couple of hours ago, is the highest end yet from the series.‎

The highlight of the Xiaomi Redmi Pro is the vertically inclined rear placed Dual camera setup  – a 13MP camera with Sony sensor and a supporting 5MP camera with Samsung sensor that captures depth information. The ‎fingerprint sensor is embedded into the oval-shaped home button and it charges via the USB Type-C port.

The device sports a brushed Aluminium metal body with CNC chamfered edges, 5.5-inch FHD OLED display, powered by a Deca-Core Mediatek Helio X20 or Helio X25 and is backed by a 4050mAh battery. It supports 4G LTE connectivity with Voice over LTE (VoLTE) and boots MIUI 8 based on Marshmallow.

The Xiaomi Redmi Pro is available in varying configuration and options. The Standard edition of the Redmi Pro costs CNY 1499 (US$ 225) and packs the Helio X20 SoC, 3GB RAM & 32GB storage while the High edition costs CNY 1699 (US$ 225) and packs the Helio X25 SoC, 3GB RAM and 64GB storage space.

The Premium or Exclusive edition also uses the Helio X25 SoC along with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage space. It’s price is pegged at CNY 1999 (US$ 300). The Redmi Pro models will be available in China starting August 6.
