Xolo has announced the Xolo 8X-1000i – a not-so evident successor of the Xolo 8X-1000 which was released far back in 2014 and also brought about the launch of the custom Hive UI. It is expected to be available via various online retailers for a price tag of Rs 6999 (US$ 106).
The Xolo 8X-1000i doesn’t look to bring any notable changes to the Xolo 8X-1000; it sports the same 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display with a pixel density of 294ppi and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection on the front and rear. It also measures 140 x 70 x 7.9 mm in dimensions.
Under the hood, it is powered by an octa-core Mediatek MT6592M processor clocked at 1.4GHz with 2GB RAM, 16GB built-in storage space and a microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 32GB. The device has Dual Micro SIM slots and runs the dated Android 4.4 KitKat OS with HIVE UI ontop.
For photography, there is a rear facing 8MP AF camera with Exmor R Sensor, LED flash, f/2.0 aperture; and a front facing 2MP camera for selfies. The Xolo 8X-1000i supports 2G and 3G networks as well as Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS options. Energy is derived from a 2000mAh Li-ion battery which is non-removable and last up to 11 hours of talk time.
