Yahoo LiveText app for video chatting launched globally on Android and iOS

Yahoo has announced the global launch of its silent LiveText app for video chatting on Android and iOS. The app debuted about two weeks ago in the Canada, France, Germany and UK and US. ‎

Yahoo describes the app as “live video texting,” essentially a combination of self-facing live video and chat.‎

The Yahoo LiveText app allows you to send a live video silently (without sound) albeit using text to your friends and loved ones. Both user can see one another while Live Texting the only difference compared to the likes of  Facebook Messenger, Whatsapp and BBM is there is no voice input involved.

The app is free to use but requires your internet connection whether Wireless or Cellular connectivity; for one-on-one conversation not a group thing; there is an option to change profile photos and friends (new users) can be added using their LiveText ID or using the address book contact.

While languages like Arabic and Japanese are yet to be supported; the Yahoo LiveText is not restricted to any region, this confirms its availability in African countries including Nigeria. Phone running Android 4.1 OS (and later) can download from Play Store and iOS devices running iOS 8.0 (and later) can download on App Store
