At the CES 2019, YI Technology announced the launch of its new home security camera – the YI Home Camera 3. The Xiaomi-backed company is known mostly for its affordable action cameras, mirror-less cameras, home security camera and dashboard cameras.
The YI Home Camera 3 has virtually all the functions of its predecessor including 1080p 20fps Full HD video output but adds new AI-based notifications, smart and human motion detection technology. It also comes with a complimentary 6 months cloud service.
The security camera comes with an improved recognition engine that allows the user get on the relevant notifications unlike past models which sends all sorts. Also, it notifies the user instantly about any strange sounds within a range of 16 feet and sends 6 second alert tone to the user’s mobile.
The YI Home Camera 3 will go on sale in the US before the end of January for US$ 40. It comes with a complimentary 6 months cloud service and recorded footage will be stored for 7 days upon motion detection.
