According to the Verge, Yota Devices sent an email to backers of the Yota Phone 2 US campaign on Indiegogo about the cancelled launch. The company cited logistic issues, unforseen delay in production and delivering the US variant of the YotaPhone 2 which could see the phone arriving into 2016.

Pushing go the US launch would have hampered the company’s plans for 2016 and while other regions are getting newer YotaPhones at affordable prices and better quality, the indiegogo backers would still be waiting on the YotaPhone 2.

Backers are given the option of either choosing to receiving the international version of the YotaPhone 2 which doesn’t support LTE networks in the US however will get HSPA+ (3G/3G+) networks or request a refund which the company admits it is still trying to figure out how to deliver.

The YotaPhone 2 is a dual screen phone with a normal display on the front and a rear facing E-ink display. The E-ink display on the rear not only saves battery life, it also display all kinds of informations and can be used to read under sunlight.

YotaPhones will soon be having competitions in the game with the likes of Siswoo- Siswoo R9 Darkmoon, Oukitel – Oukitel U6 and UMI – UMI Zero; all planning to released smartphones with the same concept.

Yota devices now has a new partner in place which would see the next YotaPhone make ways to several regions around the world including North America and who knows maybe Africa.
