Launch Recap: ZTE Axon 30, Honor X20 SE, and More

Over the past few weeks, there has been several new devices launched in various markets around the world. ZTE finally released the classic Axon 30 with a 16MP under-screen camera while OPPO released two variants of the Reno6 smartphones – Reno6 4G and Reno6 Z 5G. Also on the list is the Honor X20 SE with Dimensity 700 processor and OnePlus Nord 2 5G with Dimensity 1200 processor. See below for the basic details.

ZTE Axon 30

ZTE has added a new smartphone to the Axon 30 series, which has the Ultra and Pro models. The original ZTE Axon 30 has an under-screen camera (16MP) which sits beneath a 6.92-inch AMOLED panel with 7 layers of highly permeable material and 3 additional layers with special technology to make the area light transmissive. The camera screen area has a 400ppi pixel density and ingenious circuit arrangement for a smooth transmission between them.

The rear camera setup consists of a 64MP main camera paired with 8MP (119O FOV) ultra-wide angle, 5MP (3cm) macro and 2MP depth sensors. On the inside, it comes preloaded with MyOS11 (based on Android 11) and relies on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 mobile platform. The rest of the specs include USB-C (port and audio), DTS:X Ultra, Bluetooth 5.1, and 4,200mAh battery with 55W fast charging.

Pricing starts at CNY 2,198 for the 6GB + 128GB version; CNY 2,498 for the 8GB + 128GB version; CNY 2,798 for the 8GB + 256GB version and CNY 3,098 for the highest version (12GB + 256GB). It will go on sale in China from August and around the world in September.

Honor X20 SE

Powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 700 processor for 5G connectivity, the Honor X20 SE comes pre-loaded with Magic UI 4.1 (based on Android 11) and depends on a 4,000mAh battery with 22.5W fast charging. It has a 6.6-inch FHD+ IPS display with 16MP (f/2.0) selfie camera in the punch-hole notch and triple camera unit with 64MP (f/1.9) main + 2MP (f/2.4) macro lens + 2MP (f/2.4) depth sensing unit.

The rest of the specs include side-mounted fingerprint sensor, 6GB (CNY 1,799) or 8GB (CNY 1,999) of LPDDR4X RAM, 128GB built-in storage, 3.5mm headphone jack, and Bluetooth 5.1.

OnePlus Nord 2 5G

The Nord 2 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 octa-core processor and comes pre-loaded with OxygenOS 11.3 (based on Android 11). It has a 6.43-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with 90Hz refresh rate, 32MP selfie camera, 50MP (Sony IMX766, OIS) main + 8MP (119o FOV) ultra-wide + 2MP monochrome triple rear cameras, up to 12GB of RAM, 128GB or 256GB (UFS 3.1) storage, 5G connectivity and 4500mAh battery with 65W Warp charge.

OPPO Reno6 4G

Following the launch of the Reno6 5G and Reno6 Pro 5G, OPPO has unveiled the Reno6 4G version in Indonesia for IDR 5,199,000 (US$358). This model is backed by a 4,310mAh battery with 50W Flash Charge fast charging and powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G octa-core processor paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB built-in storage. It keeps the same 6.43-inch AMOLED display with 90Hz refresh rate as the original models, however, the front camera has moved up to a 44MP (f/2.4) unit and rear camera setup includes a 64MP (f/1.7) main + 8MP (f/2.2) ultra-wide + 2MP (f/2.4) macro + 2MP (f/2.4) monochrome sensors.

OPPO Reno6 4G

OPPO Reno6 Z 5G

OPPO also released another Reno6 variant called the Reno6 Z 5G. This model relies on the MediaTek Dimensity 800U octa-core processor for 5G connectivity and has the same rear camera setup and 6.43-inch FHD+ AMOLED display as the original Reno6 5G but with lower 60Hz refresh rate. The rest of the specs include 3.5mm audio jack, 32MP selfie camera, in-display fingerprint sensor, 8GB LDDR4X RAM + 128GB built-in storage and 4,310mAh battery with 30W fast charging.
