ZTE has officially introduced a new addition to the Axon series – the ZTE Axon 7 mini, at the IFA 2016 in Berlin. The mini variant of the flagship ZTE Axon 7 was put up for sale in Europe days ago despite no official announcement then.
The ZTE Axon 7 Mini incorporates most of the features of the Axon 7 albeit in a smaller body. It features a 5.2-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD AMOLED display, powered by a 64-Bit Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor with 3GB of RAM and 32GB built-in expandable storage space.
The device is equipped with a dedicated audio processor from Asahi Kasei Microdevices (AKM), dual front-facing stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos sound (7.1 surround sound) and is marketed as “the highest quality audio experience available in smartphones today.”
In the camera segment, there is a rear facing 16MP camera with PDAF, f/1.9 aperture; and a front facing 8MP camera for selfies and video chats. The phone packs Hybrid Dual SIM slots, USB Type-C port, run Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS and is backed by a 2705mAh battery with Qualcomm’s Quick Charge tech.
Available in Iron Gold and Platinum Gray colours, the fingerprint sensor on the original model remains. The ZTE Axon 7 mini will be available in the U.S., Russia, Germany, Spain, Poland, Japan, Australia, India and Saudi Arabia. In markets outside the US, the price tag is pegged at EUR 299 (VAT inclusive).
