At the IFA 2015, ZTE has announced the international variant of the ZTE Axon – the ZTE Axon Elite. The high-end smartphone but competitively price will be available in Asia Pacific, Europe and Latin America starting this September in Ion Gold colour.
Moving to the specs, the ZTE Axon Elite sports a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) FHD TFT display with 2.5D Corning Antimicrobial Gorilla Glass, powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB space of internal storage. If that is not enough, there is a microSD card slot that uses up to 128GB cards.
On the back lies a Dual Camera setup – a 13MP f/1.8 Sony IMX214 Exmor RS camera + 2MP camera and there is a front facing 8MP camera for selfies. Connectivity options on the Elite includes 4G LTE, GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac and Bluetooth 4.0. Audiophiles would find the quality audio experience on the phone enjoyable thanks to the dedicated AKM 4961 Hi-Fi audio chip.
Like the Axon Phone for China, the ZTE Axon Elite can be unlocked using three biometric authentication methods – through Voice control, fingerprint scanner and a eye scanner. It is backed by a 3000mAh battery which cannot be charged wirelessly but has Quick Charging (Quick Charge 2.0).
Priced at £420/£290, the ZTE Axon Elite would be available in Europe (UK, Spain, Germany, France and Italy) on September 24th. Countries in Asia Pacific and Latin America region (Hong Kong, Malaysia, Mexico, Philippines, Russia, Thailand and Turkey) will follow by the end of September.
