ZTE has officially announced the latest device in the Axon series – the ZTE Axon Max. The huge screen device which packs a mix of mid-range and high-end specs is available through China Telecom in China for a price tag of CNY 2999 (US$ 460) in Gold colour option.
The ZTE Axon Max sports a 6-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels (Full HD) and a pixel density of 367ppi. It is powered by an Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 MSM8952 processor clocked at 1.5GHz with Adreno 405 GPU, 3GB of RAM and 32GB built-in storage space.
For photography, the device packs a rear facing 16-megapixels camera capable of 4K video recording and a front facing 13-megapixels camera for selfies. Below the main camera sits the fingerprint sensor and for additional storage, there is a microSD card slot for expansion up to 128GB. FDD-LTE, TD-LTE, W-CDMA, TD-SCDMA, CDMA2000 and GSM networks are the ones supported.
Connectivity options onboard includes – 4G LTE (up to LTE Cat.7 via carrier aggregation), Dual Band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.1, micro USB port and GPS. The ZTE Axon Max has Dual SIM slots (Nano + Nano), boots Android 5.1 Lollipop which should be upgradable to Android 6.x.x Marshmallow OS and is backed by a 4140mAh battery.
