ZTE has announced the successor to the Blade A1 smartphone announced last year’s December and targeted at the youths and students. Still targeted at the ecosystem, the ZTE Blade A2 has a full metal body build, fingerprint scanner and comes in Gold, Silver and Grey colour options to choose from.
Backed by a moderate 2500mAh battery, the ZTE Blade A2 relies on an Octa-Core MediaTek MT6750 processor clocked at 1.5GHz with ARM Mali-T860MP2 GPU for graphics, runs Android 5.1 Lollipop OS with the company’s MiFavour 3.2 on top and packs 2GB of RAM + 16GB built-in storage space.
The device sports a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD display with 2.5D glass screen and measures 143.8 × 70.2 × 7.9 mm in dimensions. In the camera segment, there is a rear facing 13MP camera with fast AutoFocus and LED flash while the front camera is 5MP snapper for selfies.
The fingerprint sensor sits below the main camera on the rear; it unlocks the device in 0.3 second and serves other functions such as fingerprint payment, 360-degree finger recognition, 3D fingerprint feature, and more. Connectivity options onboard includes – 4G+ with VoLTE, Bluetooth, GPS and Wi-Fi.
On the rear, there is a fingerprint scanner with In terms of pricing, the ZTE Blade A2 is available in a 4G variant (costs CNY 599 – US$ 91) and an all network variant (costs CNY 699 – US$ 106). Sales has been pencilled to commence on June 15.
