Its apparent ZTE had a successful release of their flagship phablet device – ZTE Nubia X6 in what it claims it sold out all the first available unit in 9.8 seconds. The company however did not release the number of units it involved which leads to conclusion its might apparently not be a very large unit.
ZTE is employing the ‘Hunger Marketing’ tactic in the sale of the ZTE Nubia X6, the same method Xiaomi used in the sale of most of its products. Xiaomi recently announced it had 15 Million Pre-Order for the Xiaomi Redmi Note and while its also claims 100,000 units were sold after the Redmi Note opened for pre ordering in March.
Hunger Marketing is a becoming a huge phenomenon in China, it involves releasing a hyped product online in limited quantity which leads to a quick sellout of the device
The ZTE Nubia X6 features a massive 6.4-inch screen with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 with a pixel density of 342ppi. The phablet is powered by a 2.3GHZ quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor, Adreno 330 GPU, 3GB of RAM, 32GB/64GB/128GB of inbuilt storage (no micro SD support), 13MP rear and front cameras with LED flash and OIS. The device is powered by 4250mAh battery and runs on Android 4.4 Kitkat.
The ZTE Nubia X6 phablet would be available on sale on May 27 by 10AM but its sales is limited to China. The Nubia X6 currently retails for CNY 2,999 (roughly N79,000 in Naira) and the amount of units ZTE made available for sale is not known.
