ZTE has launched two budget oriented smartphones in the US; the ZTE Maven and the ZTE Sonata 2. The former would be available on AT&T and Cricket Wireless respectively. Both devices are targeted at first time smartphone users, casual phone users or those who need a second phone of some sorts.
The ZTE Maven would sell for $59.99 off-contract and can be purchased from AT&T stores and on att.com website; while the ZTE Sonata 2 would sell for $29.99 from Cricketwireless.com and Cricket Stores when it is bought with a phone line activation or upgrade.
Moving to the specs, the ZTE Maven is powered by a 64-bit quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor, has a 4.5-inch (480 x 854 pixels) FWVGA display with a pixel density of 215ppi. Handling tasks is 1GB of RAM, 8GB space of internal storage is available and there is a microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 32GB.
The rest of the ZTE Maven specs includes – a rear facing 5MP camera, front facing 0.3MP camera, LTE connectivity, runs Android 5.1 Lollipop OS and is powered by a non-removable 2100mAh battery.
The ZTE Sonata 2 is powered by a 32-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor paired with 1GB of RAM, 4GB space of internal storage and a 4-inch (480 x 800 pixels) WVGA display with a pixel density of 225ppi. There is a microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 32GB.
On the rear is 5MP camera with LED flash and a front facing 2MP camera for selfies. It runs Android 4.4 Kitkat OS, no support for 4G LTE connectivity and is backed by a 1650mAh battery.
About a month ago, ZTE launched the Overture 2 on in the US; it supports 4G LTE networks, 5MP rear camera and runs Android Lollipop OS. The device costs $50 on Cricket Wireless.
