ZTE’s Sub-Brand Announces Nubia Red Magic Gaming Smartphone

Just days after Xiaomi-backed Black Shark gaming smartphone made its debut in China, ZTE’s Nubia sub-brand has announced its own gaming smartphone – the Nubia Red Magic. It is backed by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 mobile platform and features an Air cooling system which uses nine (9) heat radiation air slots to regulate the device’s temperature.

The Nubia Red Magic packs a 6-inch (2160 x 1080 pixels) FHD+ 18:9 display with 85% NTSC color gamut, Dual nano SIM slots, rear fingerprint sensor, USB Type-C port, DTS Audio, and a dedicated button to activate Gaming Mode, which activates turbo acceleration technology and limits a number of the device’s underground operations when playing games.

In the camera segment, the smartphone has a single rear facing 24MP camera with f/1.7 aperture and dual-tone LED flash, and a front facing 8MP camera with 2.0 aperture, 76.9-degree wide-angle lens. It comes pre-loaded with Android 8.1 Nougat OS with Nubia Red Magic OS and power is supplied by a 3,800mAh battery with ZTE’s Neopower 3.0 for energy management.

The Nubia Red Magic is available in two RAM and storage options: 6GB RAM with 64GB storage for a price tag of CNY 2,499 (US$ 398) and 8GB RAM with 128GB built-in storage for CNY 2,999 (US$ 477). It comes in Red and Black colour options and goes on sale in China from April 25th.
