ZTE has fulfilled its promise of being one of the provider of the first set of 4G LTE smartphones shipping Firefox OS 2.2; the company ahead of the MWC 2015 announced the ZTE Open L which like other Firefox smartphone have not much glamour in its specs.
The ZTE Open L is just some upgrades from the ZTE Open C, it sports a 5-inch (854 x 480 pixels) FWVGA display with 65% screen to body ratio and a pixel density of 196ppi. The device is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 which clocks at 1.1GHz with Adreno 305 GPU, 1GB of RAM, 8GB space of internal storage and a microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 32GB more space.
There is a 5MP AutoFocus camera with LED flash on the rear and a front facing 2MP camera for handling selfies. Connectivity options on the device includes – Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Bluetooth, micro USB 2.0, GPS and LTE Cat.4.
The smartphone measures 145.5 x 72.8 x 9.4 mm and backed by a 2200mah battery. The smartphone runs Firefox OS 2.2 which is set to debut around April 2015; the updated OS will bring an improved system, improved & re-layout swipe down notification and control center, new search box at the top of the screen and switching between applications using edge swipe.
The company however didn’t release a time frame for the release of the ZTE Open L and the price tag, instead it stated the smartphone would be available Soon.
