US prepaid carriers – Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile have both commenced sales of the ZTE Prestige 2. Presumably aimed at first time buyers, the entry-level smartphone is the successor to the ZTE Prestige from 2015 and on sale from these carriers for $79.99. Best Buy is also offering the device online and in select stores for the same amount.
Moving to the specs, the device doesn’t stand out per say but this shouldn’t be surprising as the pricing agrees with this. The ZTE Prestige 2 retains the 5-inch display with 854 x 480 pixels (FWVGA) resolution and depends on a removable 2,305mAh battery which should last up to 14 hours of battery life.
On the inside, the device boots Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS and equipped with a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 processor clocked at 1.11GHz with 2GB of RAM and 16GB built-in storage (expandable up to 32GB via microSD). It also include support for 4G LTE networks.
In the camera aspect, the ZTE Prestige 2 has a rear facing 5MP camera with LED flash and a similar front facing 5MP selfie camera. Those interested in a more mid-tier yet affordable smartphone can check out the Samsung Galaxy J3 Emerge and LG Stylo 3 which are both available from these carriers.
