ZTE has officially announced it latest budget device – the ZTE Small Fresh 3 in China. It will be available on sale starting December 4th in the home country for CNY 990 (USD 155) in Honor Gold, Rose Gold and Space Grey colour options.
The ZTE Small Fresh 3 is cases in an aircraft-grade aluminium metal body with comfortable grip and the fingerprint scanner is located just below the main camera on the back; it not only allows for unlocking the device, it also supports encryption of files and serves as a dedicated button for various functions.
It sports a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display, powered by a quad-core Mediatek MT6735 processor clocked at 1.3GHz with 2GB RAM, 8GB built-in storage space and a microSD card slot for storage expansion. In the camera segment, there is aa front facing 5MP camera and a rear facing 13MP main camera.
The ZTE Small Fresh 3 measures 142 x 70.2 x 8.9 mm in dimensions, weighs 137 grams, sports Dual SIM slots with support for 4G LTE in both, boot Android 5.1 Lollipop OS with MiFavor 3.2 on top and is backed by a 2800mAh battery.
With an all-metal body and a fingerprint scanner, the launch coincides with that of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 but the latter is much more specced compared to ZTE’s own offering which is also comparable to the Meizu Metal.
