ZTE has teamed up with Verizon’s prepaid wireless brand, Visible to launch the ZTE Visible R2. This is the first smartphone from the Chinese brand to launch via a US carrier, after last year’s ban by the US Department Of Commerce.
The ZTE Visible R2 has a 5.45-inch (1520 x 720 pixels) HD+ IPS LCD display with 18:9 aspect ratio, USB Type-C 2.0 port, rear fingerprint sensor and a 3,100mAh battery with smart power management option. It is powered by a 1.45GHz quad-core processor and boots Android Oreo.
The phone has 16GB built-in expandable storage but the amount of RAM is not stated. In terms of photography, the ZTE Visible R2 is equipped with a 13MP main camera with features like HDR, Panorama and Time Lapse flash, and a 5MP selfie camera with screen flash.
The ZTE Visible R2 is priced at only $99. Also, Visible has only one plan which offers unlimited data, text, talk, and hotspot for $40 per month. Browsing speed is limited to 5Mbps and video streaming is down to 480p.
