ZTE in an event in New York has announced the ZTE ZMax,describing it as a low-cost alternative to the iPhone 6 plus. The latest phablet from the company would be available in the US around next week from T-Mobile carrier.
The Phablet measures 162.56 x 83.82 x 8.89mm, weighs 156 grams and runs on Android 4.4 Kitkat OS with the company claiming it is a stocked version. The ZTE ZMax features a 5.7-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Under the hood is a Quad-Core Snapdragon 400 (MSM8926) processor clocked at 1.2GHz with Adreno 305 GPU and 2GB of RAM.
The device rocks a 16GB internal storage with a microSD card slot for expansion up to 32GB. On the rear is a 8MP autofocus camera with LED flash and a front facing 1.6MP camera. Connectivity options on the device includes 3G HSPA+, 4G LTE, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and GPS-APS. The ZTE ZMax is powered by a 3400mAh battery which is expected to provide around 14hours of talktime and 360hours of standby time.
The ZTE ZMax would be available in Black colour option only. The phablet would be available off contract for $252 or $0 down payment and paying $10.50 a month for 24 months on T-Mobile’s Equipment Installment Plan (EIP) starting September 24th. The device would also be available in Metro PCs later this year.
The Company recently announced the Blade Vec 3G, Blade Vec 4G nad Kis 3 Max at the IFA 2014 and the ZTE V5 for the Indian market.
