ZTE has added a new tablet to the company’s growing list of mobile devices. The ZTE zPad tablet as it is known has a gold look, premium metal body build and the specs are what to be expected from a mid-range device. The 8-inch zPad is visibly takes its design inspiration from the iPad Mini and supports 4G LTE connectivity.
The ZTE zPad features a 8-inch IPS LCD touchscreen display with screen resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels. It is powered by a quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz with 1GB of RAM and 8GB space of internal storage. If the internal storage isn’t efficient there is a microSD card slot which lets you add up to 64GB space more.
The tablet measures just 7.9 mm thick and weighs 320 grams in size. The ZTE zPad sport a rear facing 5-megapixels camera with flash and a front facing 2-megapixels shooter on-board. It runs Android Kitkat OS out-of-the-box and is backed by a 4000mAh battery which should last some hours of usage.
The ZTE zPad has been announced for China but there is no word on availability and pricing details as well as release details. But the zPad could end up being available internationally if and only if ZTE is able to secure deals with different carriers to carry the slates.
