Lenovo-owned company, ZUK has teamed up with Cyanogen to announce the ZUK Z1 International Version. The device will go on sale in Europe, South East Asia, America and the Middle East next month (September) for a price starting at $299.
Instead of the Android 5.1 Lollipop OS with the company’s ZUI customisation on the original Z1; the ZUK Z1 International Version runs Cyanogen OS 12.1 which is said to have a couple of advanced features to optimise performance, power consumption, security and privacy.
Asides the change in OS, the specs remain the same – a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) FHD display, quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, Adreno 330 GPU, 3GB of RAM, 64GB space of internal storage and no microSD card slot
Others includes – 13MP rear camera, 8MP front camera, 4100mAh battery, fingerprint scanner and USB Type-C 3.0 Port for connectivity and charging. On a final note, you should know that the ZUK Z1 international version is the first device to come preloaded with the commercial Cyanogen OS from ZUK.
ZUK received a total of 2 million pre-orders for the ZUK Z1 in a week in China after the release and sold 40,000 units in the first batch of flash sales on August 18th. The Z1 is available in White and Space gray colour option.
