To commemorate the 2016 Olympics games starting some few days time in Rio De Janeiro, the ZUK Z2 Rio Edition has been made official. The new smartphone is the most affordable Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 powered smartphone yet, with a price tag of CNY 1599 (US$ 241) and pre-orders are underway.

With deliveries slated for August 2 and an option for a potential price cut via CNY 99 (US$ 15) coupon, the price tag would equal that of the Standard Xiaomi Redmi Pro Edition. What makes the device special is the Rio 2016 Olympic-themed wallpapers and themes pre-loaded on it but does not have the extra feature or design found on the Limited Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Edition.

The ZUK Z2 Rio Edition has reduced RAM and built-in storage space (3GB/32GB RAM), compared to the 4GB/64GB on the original Z2 model. It sports a 5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD LTPS 2.5D curved glass display, boots Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) with ZUI 2.0 on top and is backed by a 3,500mAh battery with quick-charge capabilities (Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0).

The rest of the specs includes – a rear facing 13MP PDAF camera with LED flash, 8MP front-facing camera, 4G LTE Cat.6 Network support with VoLTE, USB Type-C port and fingerprint sensor.
