ZUK, a subsidiary of Lenovo, has announced its latest top-shelf smartphone – the ZUK Z2 in China. The Z2 joins the phablet-sized ZUK Z2 Pro and other equally-impressive smartphones powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor but is priced below USD 300 (CNY 1799 = USD 273).
Available in Black and White colour options, the ZUK Z2 sports a 5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD LTPS 2.5D curved glass display, UTouch 2.0 Fingerprint sensor integrated into the home button which can unlock in 0.1s and a 3500mAh battery with Dual Fast Charging and Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0.
It packs 4GB of RAM along with 64GB built-in storage space and runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS with the company’s ZUI 2.0 ontop. In the camera segment, there is a rear facing 13MP camera with PDAF with 0.1s quick focus, f/2.2 aperture, EIS, 5P lens, LED flash while the front camera is a 8MP snapper with f/2.0 aperture and 78.9-degree wide viewing angle.
The device has has Dual Nano SIM slots, measures 141.65 x 68.88 x 8.45 mm in dimensions, weighs 149 grams and uses the USB 2.0 Type-C port for charging and data transfer. Connectivity options on the ZUK Z2 includes – 4G LTE with VoLTE, Dual Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4. 1 and GPS.
The ZUK Z2 will go on sale starting June 7th in China along with a USD 45 (CNY 299) priced USB Type-C wireless charger that also doubles as a charging cover.
