Apple used its September 2021 keynote to unveil new iPhones, two iPads and new Apple Watch. The virtual event, dubbed ‘California Streaming’, saw the launch of the iPhone 13/13 Pro series, the 9th-Gen iPad, 6th-Gen iPad mini, and Apple Watch Series 7. All the products will arrive with the latest version of their respective OS: iOS 15, iPadOS 15, and watchOS (Sept. 20 for all eligible devices).
All the four iPhone 13 models have MagSafe support, 5G connectivity, IP68-rating, and the Apple A15 Bionic (6-Core CPU + 4 or 5-core GPU) under the hood. The iPhone 13/13 mini have respective 5.5 and 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR displays while the iPhone 13 Pro/13 Pro Max have respective 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch Super Retina XDR displays with ProMotion technology (adaptive 120Hz refresh rate).
The basic iPhone 13/13 mini have an advanced dual camera system while the Pro models have a triple camera system with LiDAR sensor. Other noteworthy highlights include Cinematic mode and ProRes. The Apple Watch Series 7 now comes in 41mm and 45mm sizes, 33% faster charging with USB-C cable, and new features such as Pilates, meditation, ECG sand blood oxygen app.
Apple also used the iPhone 13’s A15 Bionic in the new iPad mini (6th-gen) but the iPad (9th-gen) sticks with the A13 Bionic which powered the iPhone 11 series. The former supports 5G connectivity, USB-C port and 8.3-inch Liquid Retina display while the latter supports LTE connectivity and dons a 10.2-inch Retina display. They both have a 12MP ultrawide camera with Center stage, support Apple Pencil, Touch ID and all-day battery life.
