Razer Edge 5G Handheld Gaming Device with Snapdragon G3x Gen 1 Gaming Platform

Razer has announced its latest 5G Android handheld gaming device – the Razer Edge 5G. The company teamed up with both Qualcomm and Verizon to equip the device with the Snapdragon G3x Gen 1 Gaming Platform along with Snapdragon Elite gaming technologies, Snapdragon Sound technology suite, Qualcomm FastConnect 6900 mobile connectivity system and Verizon 5G mmWave.

Qualcomm’s Snapdragon G3x Gen 1 Gaming Platform also features Kryo CPU cores and Adreno GPU. The gaming device sports a 6.8-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with 144Hz refresh rate for smooth and responsive gameplay, 5MP selfie camera, and depends on a 5,000mAh capacity battery. It packs 8GB of RAM (LPDDR5), 128GB (UFS 3.1) built-in storage and microSD card slot (up to 2TB). The rest if the specs include: 2-way speakers with Verizon Adaptive Sound, 2x digital mics, Boomcloud360 audio, USB Type C, Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.2. Specs-wise, the Razer Edge 5G is very close to the Razer Edge Wi-Fi and Razer Edge Founders Edition.

The major difference is the inclusion of cellular connectivity (LTE & 5G) and as expected pricing also varies. Users have the option of using the touchscreen or the Razer Kishi V2 Pro controller for playing games. The controller has HyperSense haptics, microswitch buttons, analog triggers, and programmable macros. At launch, the gaming phone is compatible with native android games, cloud streaming services like Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta) and Nvidia GeForce Now, and PC game libraries.
