Samsung Electronics has announced the date for its next Unpacked Event where it will unveil its Galaxy S22 smartphone series. The company has sent out invites for the ‘Galaxy Unpacked 2022’ with emphasis on the number ‘22’ and the theme for this year is ‘The Epic Standard’.
According to the company, the Samsung Galaxy S22 launch event is scheduled for Feb 9, 2022, at 10am EST (Feb 10, 2022, at 1am AEST). The company is expected to unveil the entire Galaxy S22 roster which includes the base Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22 Plus and Galaxy S22 Ultra as well as the Galaxy Tab S8 series. The event will be streamed on Samsung’s YouTube channel and website.

The Samsung Galaxy S22 launch will mark the beginning of the cross between the now dated Galaxy Note series and Galaxy S series. According to SamMobile, the base model supports 25W fast charging on its 3,700mAh battery while the Plus and Ultra models will support 45W fast charging on their respective 4,500mAh and 5,000mAh batteries. They trio have 6.1-inch (2340 x 1080 pixels), 6.6-inch (2340 x 1080 pixels), and 6.8-inch (3080 x 1440 pixels) displays with Dynamic AMOLED 2X display technology and 120Hz refresh rate.

The Galaxy S22 and S22 Plus will have the same front 10MP (f/2.2) selfie camera and triple camera configuration – 50MP (f/1.8, OIS) main + 12MP (f/2.2) ultra-wide + 10MP (f/2.4) telephoto. The Galaxy S22 Ultra will have a 40MP (f/2.2) selfie camera and quad rear camera setup with 108MP (f/1.8, OIS) main sensor paired with 12MP (f/2.2, 2PD AF) ultra-wide, 2x 10MP (f/2.4, f/4.9, OIS) telephoto sensors. The rest of the specs include Snapdragon 8 Gen 1/Exynos 2200, up to 12GB of RAM, up to 512GB storage and S Pen (Ultra only).
